My Style: Wanderlust

Who's in the mood to travel for summer vacation?  I am!  I have a couple more finals on Monday and then I will officially have my two-year degree.  Yes, I decided to take a breather and not intern this summer.  Is that so awful?  I'm only a sophomore in college. . .  I hope to relax, rejuvenate, but also focus on blogging and get some stunning photos in great places ranging from southern Cali beaches to northern Nevada ranches.  This look expresses my yearning to travel and explore through beautiful Charlotte Russe items from the colorful serape head wrap that reminds me of South America to the western fringed boots that remind me of all the places to explore here in the West.  The dip-dye, high-low top is the softest rayon, and the shredded shorts are such a beautiful color.  The summer is an empty scrapbook and I can't wait to fill it!  I would love to hear about your summer plans in the comments! :)  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: The Woods at Sunset

I'm loving this time of year when I can stroll in the woods and it's warm enough at sunset to wear a light romper and long cardigan.  It's so peaceful!  Notice the gorgeous tie-dye of the Other’s Follow romper with the drawstring gather and the pockets at the hips.  The material is soft and luxurious.  Next, you have to focus on the pretty ruffled hem at the base and at the sleeves of the cardi--beautiful design from Femmebot.  The knit material is delicate and yet full of life with sheer stripes.  I always love details.  Additionally for this styling, I selected the amazing Dame Harness Bootie in Sand by Koolaburra, specializing in beautiful leather designs.  These handsome, low-cut harness booties with a dipped front topline and stacked leather heel are so comfortable!  I selected a sleek, faux leather backpack that matched the booties nicely. Completing the outfit, I put on some chic sunnies, boho jewelry, and a floppy hat.

In 10 days, I will officially have my Associates of Applied Science in Graphic Design!  I will be able to get sleep and actually be coherent in my blog writing. haha  Have a super rest of the week!  Xoxo, Shelly

My Style: Country Charm

Springtime has finally reached northern Arizona!  Although I love the winter vibes, I'm soooo over being cold.  We enjoyed 70 degree days all week, until ironically the weather turned down to 50 when I stepped out for my photo shoot. So, if I look a tad bit purple--I was freezing!  Before the photo shoot, I was at the market and just had to buy these gorgeous sunflowers--happy to see them back in the stores!  For the styling, I couldn't resist pairing this beautiful, crocheted lace, off-the-shoulder crop top with these high-waisted, cuffed hem, acid washed denim shorts.  What a perfect pair.  To bring in spring florals, I chose these amazing wooden platform, t-strap, wedge sandals.  Adding accessories, I selected the oversized faux leather tote with golden grommets across the front and the straw Panama hat with a black, pleated fabric band.  Completing the perfect outfit for any warm-weather outing, I wore some pretty bangles, rings, and sunnies.  I hope wherever you live that you are enjoying picnics and sunshine--blissful happiness :)  Xoxo, Shelly

P.S. I just made a Facebook page for Arizona Girl!  Please show some love by going to facebook.com/shellystuckman and clicking "Like".  Thank you!

My Style: Urban Boho

Relaxed and yet chic--that's today's styling.  I'm wearing a beautifully cut dress with amazing texture, an impeccable dress for office attire with heels and a blazer or a perfect dress for weekend fun with Converse sneakers and a denim jacket.  I added round sunnies, silver rings, and a woven backpack for a little bohemian flair.  Sometimes simple is best.  This shoot was taken while on a walk around a local lake to find some peace in the madness of the final stretch of this semester.  So close yet so far to summer and relaxation.  Keep on keepin' on, y'all.  Xoxo, Shelly

Behind the Scenes with adidas NEO Label

Back in February, I had the pleasure of working with adidas NEO label on their summer 2015 campaign!  I was flown to Miami, Florida, and had a beautiful room at the Thompson Hotel.  The scenery was very chic and brightly colored.  When I arrived, I was treated to a fancy dinner at the hotel and greeted by the adidas NEO team along with NEO goodies.  After a briefing of the schedule, I was off to bed to get some beauty sleep.

Bright and early, I was on set meeting my videographer Kyle Hannon, consulting with the stylist Anna Roth-Milner and assistant stylist Lydia Burkhalter, and getting camera ready thanks to hair stylist Crystal Grossman and make up stylist Judy Jacamo!  I was nervous since this was my first big photoshoot with trailers, catering service, assistants galore, police escorts, security, you name it.  Everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and professional that my nervousness went away, and the first day was such a blast!  :)

The first day consisted of modeling and styling two looks from adidas NEO's summer 2015 collection.  I selected a tropical sun dress with NEO slip-ons for my first look (you can see it in the video) which was taken along the ocean shore of Miami Beach a.k.a. heaven.  The look was photographed by the talented Jake Trott.  For my second  look, I chose a vibrant graphic tank, a pair of denim shorts, and high top sneakers.  Since the concept was fun in the sun on the beach, my hair was waved to perfection, and I wore a pair of sunglasses along with bohemian inspired jewelry.  Look number 2 was photographed by the stellar Jennifer Rochol at a colorful lifeguard stand.

Day two arrived and everyone was working hard again bright and early.  Instead of shooting on the beach, the set was on a pier and then later in the day in a park.  The pier was insane!  People kept lining up, watching, snapping photos, and basically straight up snooping.  haha It was fun; the excitement only added to the positive energy.  Just like day one, the creative director, Ben Hennes, was wonderful and shared his vision for the photos and brought out the best in the models and me.

Fun fact, this bike was twice my size and incredibly heavy. . . It nearly clobbered me numerous times, but it sure looked cute.  For the first look, I chose a very sporty, casual outfit with a NEO striped top, a pair of drawstring shorts, and blue sneakers.  The green laces on the shoes matched the NEO screen print on my top beautifully, and the bike ended up twinning with the green as well.

For my final look, I again went athletic.  I chose a cool graphic tee, an over-sized jogger jacket, a pair of skinny acid-washed jeans, and orange flats that were so comfy!  To bring the orange of the shoes together with the look, I wore a patterned drawstring bag that had NEO printed in orange.  The look was totally fun and would be perfect for any casual outing.

Working with adidas NEO was a dream come true!  I would like to thank everyone including the NEO brand marketing and production team, agency art directors, account directors, and production managers, photographers, videographers, stylists, hair stylist, makeup stylist, production assistants, security, drivers, models, and anyone else that I don't know your job title (I'm sorry but you're still awesome!)  The whole experience couldn't have been better and I am so excited for the campaign to launch next month!  Stay tuned.  Xoxo, Shelly
